Paying on Fixed Routes

Insert your payment (cash only) into the fare box next to the driver upon boarding. Please use exact fare — neither the fare box nor the driver can make change.

Those eligible for reduced fare are encouraged to apply for a MATS Reduced Fare Photo ID.

Passes can be purchased at the Herman Ivory Terminal (351 Morris St.) or the MATS Administration Building (2624 Sixth St.). No cash refunds on bus passes.

Transfers

Transfers are free and valid for 30 minutes. Request your transfer slip from the driver upon boarding.

Reduced Fare Program

The Reduced Fare ($0.60) is available to seniors age 65+ and persons with disabilities with a valid MATS Reduced Fare Card. Seniors may be asked to show proof of age and are encouraged to apply for a MATS Reduced Fare Card.

Persons with disabilities and Medicare cardholders must show a MATS Reduced Fare Card as proof of eligibility. For more information on reduced fares or to apply for a Reduced Fare Photo ID, contact Customer Care at 231-724-6420.
