Simply insert the money (cash only) into the fare box, located next to the driver, upon boarding. Please use exact fare, as neither the fare box nor the bus driver are able to make change.
If you are transferring, present your transfer slip to the bus driver upon boarding. Transfers are free and valid for 30 minutes and must be requested upon boarding. They are intended for use to complete a one-way trip and are not valid on the issuing route or for return trips. Persons transferring from a MARC route to a MARC route or MATS Urban Route will not be charged additional fare. Persons transferring from a MATS Urban route to a MARC route will be required to pay $1.25 or $.60 in additional fare.
If you are using a 10-ride bus pass, present it to the driver to be punched.
All passes can be purchased either from the MATS drivers or at the Herman Ivory Terminal weekdays between 10 am and 4 pm.
*Discount Fare: The Discount Fare is available to seniors (age 60 and over), persons with disabilities, or Medicare card-holders. Seniors may be asked to show proof of age. Persons with disabilities must show a MATS Discount Fare card or Medicare card as proof of eligibility. Temporary Medicare cards are accepted as proof of disability.
